What does “35× wagering” really mean?
A wagering requirement is the amount of qualifying play an offer asks for before bonus funds or related winnings can be withdrawn. The multiplier only tells half the story. The amount it multiplies matters just as much.
Same number. Different commitment.
Consider a hypothetical €20 deposit with a €20 bonus:
- 35× bonus only: 35 × €20 = €700 in qualifying stakes.
- 35× deposit + bonus: 35 × (€20 + €20) = €1,400 in qualifying stakes.
Both offers can advertise “35× wagering”, but the second calculation is twice as large. These figures describe turnover, not a fee, a predicted loss or a promise that you will reach the target. The balance can be lost before the requirement is met.
Four more terms to put next to the multiplier
- Game contribution. A €1 stake may count as less than €1 towards the requirement, or not count at all. Check the eligible games.
- Maximum bet. Bonus rules may limit the stake you can place while an offer is active. Breaching the rule can affect winnings.
- Maximum cashout. Some promotions cap what you may withdraw even after playthrough is complete. A large balance is not necessarily all withdrawable.
- Expiry. Read the deadline for activating the offer, using spins and completing playthrough separately. They may differ.
A package total is not a single-deposit bonus
If a welcome package covers three deposits, each stage has its own match, minimum payment and cap. Adding three percentages together does not create one match at the combined percentage. Compare the stage you are considering, not only the maximum package total.
Free spins included in a deposit package are also not automatically a no-deposit offer. Check whether a payment is required and what happens to spin winnings.
Use the rule attached to your actual offer
General bonus terms and promotion-specific terms can differ. Your location, payment method, currency or account can affect the offer. If two pages conflict, ask the operator which rule applies before accepting the bonus.
Set your own budget first. A bonus expiry date or a playthrough target is not a reason to spend more or keep gambling. Declining an offer is a valid choice.
